Welcome to the Cedar Chapel Special School website! Cedar Chapel, located in Snow Hill, Maryland, is a special education school serving students from the ages of three to twenty-one with significant disabilities in Worcester County. Our staff members are committed to meeting the needs of all students in a positive, welcoming environment. Our students are challenged to meet high expectations in order that they develop skills needed for independence. Working in partnership with parents, we believe that all of our students can achieve success. The educational programs are designed for students who require a comprehensive special education setting for the entire school day. Instructional areas include reading, math and science based on the Voluntary State Curriculum, career and vocational skills, skills of daily living, communication and interpersonal skills based upon the needs of each child. Our student body participates in community events such as art shows, Special Olympics, music performances, and Christmas parades to name a few.

We are very proud of our accomplishments! We are the only special school in the state of Maryland that has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges. We met all 2009 Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) Objectives. We have also been named a Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS) Silver School, the second highest honor for schools participating in this national program.
